“If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God, you’ll be at rest.”

 ― Corrie Ten Boom

This world has plenty to LOOK at and listen to.  What we fix our eyes on really matters. The world is screaming loudly that we should FEAR every news report whether it’s online, tv, or people telling people the latest place where the coronavirus has been diagnosed.  In all the talk, fear, and confusion, we are forgetting something…

God.

In the bible David writes,

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.  He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”

Psalm 91:1-4

Yes! God has given us great and precious promises, but we must believe them.  Let’s remember WHO WE ARE as children of God.  Jesus gave his life for you and rose from the dead to make a way for you to be ‘born again’ and become a new creation. (If you have never experienced being born again into salvation through Jesus Christ but want to, see the “SALVATION” tab on my website.)

Children of God have direct access to the Father in heaven. When we come to Him in prayer, we know he hears us.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Hebrews 4:16

I heard that President Trump declared TODAY, Sunday March 15, is a NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER! This is a historic opportunity for us to seek the LORD as a nation. In scripture we see that the Lord speaks directly to this type of situtation:

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

Let the people of God ARISE!! Will you be one who seeks God on their knees on this historic day?

CHILD OF GOD: Your Words Have Power

As sons and daughters of the King, we have inheritance.  This includes MANY things, but for now let’s look at the power of our words.

Did you hear that?  Your words matter.

God is Creator and when He speaks, HE CREATES.  As sons and daughters of God, we are made in His image, and the Bible says our words also have power. This is, in part, how we were created in His image. Our words have the power to build up or destroy. Pay attention to the words you use. Are they filled with criticism, hate, and defeat… or love, hope, and encouragement? They are like tools that can either help us reach our goals or leave us stuck in a deep, dark valley.

Proverbs 18:21 says,

“Your words are so powerful that they will kill or give life, and the talkative person will reap the consequences.”

So you create with your words. Are you creating life or death? There are many scriptures about how our words hold power:

  • James 3:1-10
  • Proverbs 12:6
  • Psalm 64:2-3
  • Matt. 12:34-37
  • Mark 11:22

These are a few.  You can also find more about the Power of Your Words in my book, The Voice of Truth.

With this understanding, how are we speaking about this virus?  Are we declaring our FEARS, or our FAITH that God can take this virus out?!  Let’s speak life and declare God’s promises in HIS WORD.

Keys for Victory: Utilizing the power of your words

Declarations and decrees (Speak it out loud).  Here are some examples to get you started.

  • I declare and decree I will NOT BE AFRAID.  I break all agreement with fear and I agree that God’s love for me is big enough to trust.
  • I declare and decree God still has the whole world in His hands!
  • I declare and decree this virus will die out in Jesus name.
  • I declare and decree all economies will stay steadfast and stable.
  • I declare and decree that God will rescue us from every trap and protect us from deadly disease. (Psalm 91)
  • I declare and decree that we do not dread the disease that stalks in the darkness…no plague will come near our home. (Psalm 91)
  • I have authority to trample and crush lions and serpents and the schemes of the enemy under my feet in Jesus name! (Matthew 10:19, Psalm 91:13)
  • Coronavirus, in the name of Jesus, we trample on you like a serpent and declare complete eradication!

Praise God before the breakthrough!  Let your words as PRAISE be weapons to defeat evil!

Have you heard of the Old testament King, Jehoshaphat?  He was a godly king and reigned in Judah a few generations after David.  In 2 Chronicles 20, we find out how praise and trust in God can carry people to VICTORY.

When the king learned 3 nations were on their way to make war with his kingdom, he cried out to God.   He asked his people to also pray and fast. Then, as they were gathered together for prayer, the SPIRIT of the LORD came upon one of the men and He began to tell the people a message from God.  He said,

“Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”

2 Chronicles 20:15-17

The king bowed with his face to the ground and so did all the people…WORSHIPPING THE LORD.

Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.” After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang:

“Give thanks to the Lord;
    his faithful love endures forever!”

At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves. The armies of Moab and Ammon turned against their allies from Mount Seir and killed every one of them. After they had destroyed the army of Seir, they began attacking each other. So when the army of Judah arrived at the lookout point in the wilderness, all they saw were dead bodies lying on the ground as far as they could see. Not a single one of the enemy had escaped.

2 Chronicles 20:22-24

As the people PRAISED GOD in trust, He gave them Victory!  Let’s raise a hallelujah to the Lord and thank Him for VICTORY over coronavirus!!! Praise him in the car.  Praise Him in the kitchen.  Praise Him in the shower!  Praise Him as you go!  Let’s raise our voices and praise Him with faith He will stop the spread of sickness…

🎶“Give thanks to the Lord;
    his faithful love endures forever!”
🎶

I believe with all my heart that the Father wants us to TRUST HIM.  He is faithful and never changes!  Just as he spoke his promise to his people in Judah and then fulfilled it, SO WILL HE DO TODAY!  Let pray and praise Him for complete dismantling of this virus.  Let’s do it together!

“Do not be discouraged about this mighty VIRUS, for the battle is not yours, but GOD’S!”
