Isn’t it comforting to know that our Mighty God has already been where we’re going, and He already knows what will happen in each of our lives. So when He speaks about the future, we can rest in His understanding and His plans to prosper us as His children. He wants to give us hope for the future and PEACE in the storms of life.
“I declare from the beginning how it will end and foretell from the start what has not yet happened. I decree that my purpose will stand, and I will fulfill my every plan.”
Isaiah 46:10 TPT
“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 AMP
As I was spending time with the Lord, I had a vision of being on a roller coaster. We were going up the big hill one click at a time. I could feel the G-force as we plunged down the hill and around the sharp curves. But then, after many unexpected twists and turns, we came into the station and it was over. If you’ve ever ridden on this type of ride, you can relate to the sense of relief and peace that rushes over you when you know you made it to the end of the ride! I sensed the Lord saying that we are about to journey through times on the earth that will feel like a roller coaster ride. But the wild ride we will experience will only be for a time and then it will end… just as the roller coaster comes into the station and you get out of the car. I felt the Lord say, “And in the midst of this–I will be your seatbelt!”
He is our protection and our shield. He covers us with his feathers and under his wings we have refuge!
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”
Psalms 91:1-4 NLT
As I listened, I felt he said,
“Dear one, take heart. I AM overcoming the world. The victory I gained fully at the cross and the resurrection will be visibly seen and made manifest in your days. Many people and prophets desired to look on to these things but they were not permitted. But you are living in a generation who will see the hand of the Lord moving in ways never seen before on the earth. Wait and see what your God is about to do!
There is a bondage and slavery on the earth that surpasses the other generations. Just as I heard the cries of my people in Moses day and was moved to set them free, so have I heard the prayers of my people in your days. Just as I moved heaven and earth to set my captives in Egypt free, so I will move heaven on earth to set free my people once again in these modern days.
The wicked ones oppressing many, who belong to Satan‘s kingdom are about to meet Me face-to-face. And then you will see the difference between those who serve Me and those who do not.
He who abides under the shadow of the Almighty, finds safety in My shelter. I will be a refuge and I will bless and rescue those who love Me and show their loyalty to Me. I will spare them as a father takes care of his own child. So rejoice for your freedom draws nigh!
Even in the storm, you will find great peace in ME. Just hold My hand, My beloved children!”
In Mark 4:38-41, a fierce storm comes up while Jesus and his disciples are in a boat at sea. Jesus is sleeping in the stern of the boat as the storm rages. They woke him, shouting…
“Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”” Mark 4:38-41 NLT
The wind and the waves still obey Him! Sometimes He calms the storm and other times He walks on the water beside you (like Peter in Matthew 14:28-29)…But either way He wants to be your peace in the storm.
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
Isaiah 26:3 NLT
I think we all want PERFECT PEACE, but there are always storms and roller coaters in life. “Fixing your thoughts” is another way to say FOCUS on Him. What is your focus on daily? Peter walked on top of the water until He looked at the waves– and started sinking. We have to be intentional! All through the day, REFOCUS your thoughts on the One who holds your hand in every storm. Jesus is our perfect peace and steadfast One who never changes.
